1. Our Commitment

ExcelWebDesign.ie is dedicated to minimizing environmental impact and contributing positively to Ireland’s climate goals. As a Dublin-based digital agency, we integrate sustainability into every aspect of our operations, from energy use and travel to reforestation and client solutions.

2. Our Sustainability Pillars

A. Carbon Reduction & Energy Efficiency

  • Renewable & Low-Carbon Energy:
    • Electricity supplied by Bord Gáis Energy (partial green tariff).
    • Heating fully transitioned from kerosene to LPG (2024), with ongoing monitoring for further decarbonization.
  • Building Efficiency:
    • Comprehensive insulation upgrades completed (walls, roof, windows).
    • LED lighting installed throughout office and studio.
    • Electric vehicle charger installed to support staff and visitor EV use.
  • Digital Efficiency:
    • All websites optimized for low energy consumption (compressed assets, lazy loading, efficient code).
    • Use of Website Carbon Calculator to measure and report site emissions.

B. Reforestation & Biodiversity

  • Native Tree Planting Programme:
    • 2025: Planted 150+ Irish native trees (oaks, spruces, rowan, hazel).
    • Cumulative (2020–2025):650+ trees planted across Leinster site in partnership with local landowner.
    • Annual planting event with staff (next: Spring 2026).

C. Waste & Resource Management

  • Zero-Waste Office Goal:
    • 90% waste diversion through recycling, composting, and reuse.
    • No single-use plastics in office.
    • Digital-first: e-signatures, cloud storage, reusable coffee cups.
    • Circular IT:
    • Preference for modular, refurbished hardware.

D. Sustainable Travel & Remote Work

  • Remote-First Policy: 80%+ of team works remotely, reducing commuter emissions.

E. Employee Environmental Training

  • What environmental training does your organisation provide to employees?
    • Digital Carbon Literacy
    • Energy-Saving Practices in office and remote work
    • Sustainable Design Principles
    • Tree Planting & Biodiversity
    • Certification: 100% of team certified in Sustainable Digital Practices by 2026.

F. Client Sustainability Enablement
