1. Our Commitment
ExcelWebDesign.ie is dedicated to minimizing environmental impact and contributing positively to Ireland’s climate goals. As a Dublin-based digital agency, we integrate sustainability into every aspect of our operations, from energy use and travel to reforestation and client solutions.
2. Our Sustainability Pillars
A. Carbon Reduction & Energy Efficiency
- Renewable & Low-Carbon Energy:
- Electricity supplied by Bord Gáis Energy (partial green tariff).
- Heating fully transitioned from kerosene to LPG (2024), with ongoing monitoring for further decarbonization.
- Building Efficiency:
- Comprehensive insulation upgrades completed (walls, roof, windows).
- LED lighting installed throughout office and studio.
- Electric vehicle charger installed to support staff and visitor EV use.
- Digital Efficiency:
- All websites optimized for low energy consumption (compressed assets, lazy loading, efficient code).
- Use of Website Carbon Calculator to measure and report site emissions.
B. Reforestation & Biodiversity
- Native Tree Planting Programme:
- 2025: Planted 150+ Irish native trees (oaks, spruces, rowan, hazel).
- Cumulative (2020–2025):650+ trees planted across Leinster site in partnership with local landowner.
- Annual planting event with staff (next: Spring 2026).
C. Waste & Resource Management
- Zero-Waste Office Goal:
- 90% waste diversion through recycling, composting, and reuse.
- No single-use plastics in office.
- Digital-first: e-signatures, cloud storage, reusable coffee cups.
- Circular IT:
- Preference for modular, refurbished hardware.
