Your website shows a quantity of 0 in the quantity box but you can still add the item to your website’s cart. Shouldn’t it say 1 by default; well – yes I think so.

[/lightbox]So without being a wizard and access to your admin panel, you can easily change this.
- Log in to your Magento Admin Panel
- Go to System > Configuration > Inventory
- Open up ‘Product Stock Options’
- Click on the orange ‘add minimum quantity’ button
- Add a ‘1’ to the quantity field and leave everything else the same
- Save your changes and voila – done
